The City of Henderson, the Southern Nevada Regional Trails Partnership and the River Mountains Trail (RMLT) Partnership will be celebrating this year's National Trails Day event at the Henderson Pavillion, 200 S. Green Valley Parkway, Henderson, Nevada, Saturday, October 9th, 2010 from 9:00AM-1:00PM. This free community event will focus on raising outdoor recreation awareness while educating the public about our fantastic local and regional trail system! And this year, we're also hosting a Photo Contest and an Outdoor Gear Swap Meet! At National Trails Day, you'll find information booths on area trails to become better acquainted with the amazing Henderson Trails. There'll be youth activities, a gear swap, trail tours, guest speakers and of course, did we mention our Photo Contest! Of course we'll also have a great group of exhibitors on hand to share their knowledge about the outdoor opportunities coming to Southern Nevada including the Public Lands Institute, Henderson Trails Department and the American Hiking Society to name just a few.
